I noticed this article on Design Ignites Change about a group of students from Metro State in Denver who participated in a recent Create! Don’t Hate. campaign.
The students created a series of billboards to share their ideas, showcase their talent and reach out to their communities to effect positive social change.
This is a great example of the power of design and creative thought, and design’s ability to bring about true change. We’ve heard the word “change” a lot in the past year, but it’s really cool to see it in action, in an industry that we as creatives can dig our teeth into.
I have ideas for complementary projects that we could do with local schools, providing mentorship, professional development and assistance to the next generation of creatives.
